The lodge was located deep within a lush green forest, surrounded by a variety of wildlife. We loved waking up to the sound of birds chirping and the sight of monkeys swinging from tree to tree. The glass floor to ceiling windows in the lodges provided stunning views of the forest, allowing us to truly feel immersed in nature. Additionally, the lodge offered a private swimming pool, which was a great way to relax and cool off after a day of exploring.
One of the downsides of our stay was the lack of air conditioning. While the lodge did provide fans, the humidity in the forest made it difficult to get a comfortable night's sleep.

The room was incredibly comfortable and beautifully designed with attention to detail. The location was just right - close enough to town for convenience but secluded enough to provide privacy and a peaceful atmosphere. The staff treated us like royalty, offering personalized service and making us feel cared for throughout our stay.
The breakfast could have been improved with a greater variety of options.

The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the staff were super friendly and helpful. The facility itself was even better in person, and the pictures do not do it justice. The breakfast was excellent, with everything homemade or locally sourced. The owners were fantastic and personable, offering great suggestions on things to do around town.
Felt like a home away from home, no complaints at all.

More breakfast choices would have been nice, perhaps adding some local specialties to the menu.

We absolutely loved our stay at Vanilla Hills Lodge! The treehouse rooms were enchanting, and we enjoyed relaxing on the deck and listening to the sounds of nature. The food was delicious, with a great selection of local meats, fish, and fresh fruits and veggies from their garden. Claudia, our hostess, was amazing and made fantastic recommendations for day trips and arranged them with local companies. The small, local experiences, like tubing the river and exploring Caracol with a former archeologist, were both educational and fun. Claudia even made a special vegetarian dinner for my wife on our last night. We had great conversations and lots of laughter each evening. Stay here, it's perfect!
Felt really welcomed, no complaints at all.

I recently stayed at a beautiful and secluded property in the San Ignacio area called Vanilla Hills Lodge. The cabins were lovely, and the staff went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. They even created adorable animal shapes out of towels! The staff were also incredibly friendly and helpful in recommending tours and local highlights. At night and in the morning, the jungle sounds were amazing, creating a truly immersive experience. The tree house accommodations were serene, with a peaceful pond and water fountain providing soothing white noise for a good night's sleep. The breakfast menu had a wide variety of delicious options, and the staff helped us arrange a tour to the ATM cave, which included transportation. I highly recommend Vanilla Hills Lodge for a unique and enjoyable stay.
Totally recommend this hotel.
